(1)

Formed in September 2009, Move to Amend is a coalition of hundreds of organizations and hundreds of thousands of individuals committed to social and economic justice, ending corporate rule, and building a vibrant democracy that is genuinely accountable to the people, not corporate interests. Constitution to unequivocally state that inalienable rights belong to human beings only, and that money is

not a form of protected free speech under the First Amendment and can be regulated in political campaigns.

The state of free speech at Delany Hall is a complete farce. Thanks to a broken legal system, multi-billion-dollar private prison corporations like the GEO Group enjoy unlimited First Amendment rights to pump cash into politics and protect their blood money. But when real, flesh-and-blood human beings gather to demand justice, they are weaponized against, suffocated with chemical agents, and locked into a tiny, state-sanctioned "free speech box" out of sight.

While human rights are quarantined on the street, a desperate battle for survival is exploding inside. Detainees locked inside Delany Hall are currently putting their lives on the line in a high-stakes hunger strike, screaming for the bare minimum of human decency:

Immediate medical intervention to halt rampant, life-threatening neglect.

Basic survival essentials, including breathable air and food fit for humans.

An end to indefinite cage-locking and actual due process for their cases.

This is exactly why Move to Amend is fighting to dismantle corporate rule. We are witnessing a system where artificial corporate entities are granted absolute freedom to profit from human misery, while the people are banned from standing up to stop it. We refuse to let our constitutional rights be rationed into a cage. It’s time to crush corporate personhood, abolish these restrictive zones, and put human lives over corporate profits!

Hi friends — I’m asking our community to show up for someone who has spent decades showing up for all of us.

Anyone who has worked with George knows she has poured herself into helping others grow, challenge themselves, and move through struggle with courage and integrity. She has spent her life fighting systems of injustice — and now those same systems are failing her.

After working for systemic change in the country since 1987 one would think I would be able to secure housing. Alas, our system which values money over people or their accomplishments doesn't, so I appeal to those who do care about the values I have worked to live out and uphold for help.”

Please give what you can. Every donation helps George stay housed, safe, and supported. And if you can’t give, please share widely. Let’s show George the same love and solidarity she has given to so many others. ❤️

Delaney Hall is a stark reminder of what happens when profit is placed above people.

This is what corporate rule looks like in practice. GEO Group profits from detention. The more beds filled, the more money made. When human freedom becomes a business model, people suffer.

The reported hunger strike and growing concerns about conditions inside Delaney Hall are not isolated incidents. They are the predictable result of a system that allows corporations to wield enormous influence over public policy while profiting from human incarceration.

Resistance is necessary. But resistance alone is not enough.

We must unrig the system that puts corporate profits over human rights.

That's why we need the We the People Amendment (H.J.Res. 54) — to end corporate constitutional rights and make clear that money is not speech.

No corporation should have more power than the people.

A Delaware judge has ruled that corporations can continue voting in certain municipal elections.

Let that sink in.

Artificial entities created by the state to generate profit are being granted a voice in elections while millions of actual people struggle to have theirs heard.

This sets a dangerous precedent.

For decades, courts have expanded corporate power by granting corporations constitutional rights and allowing wealthy interests to dominate our elections with unlimited spending. Now we're seeing yet another example of the absurd consequences of treating corporations like people.

Corporations don't vote. People do.

That's why we need the We the People Amendment (H.J.Res. 54) — to establish once and for all that corporations are not people and money is not speech.

Declare Independence from Corporate Rule.

Whether it's AIPAC, Big Oil, Big Pharma, Wall Street, Silicon Valley, the NRA, or any other powerful special interest, the problem is the same: money buys access, influence, and political power that ordinary people simply don't have.

That's why we need the We the People Amendment (H.J.Res. 54).

• Money is not speech.
• A corporation should not have constitutional rights meant for humans.

The issue isn't one lobby group. It's a political system that allows concentrated wealth to dominate democratic decision-making.

Until we change the rules, those with the most money will continue to have the loudest voice.

Declare Independence from Corporate Rule.
Pass the We the People Amendment.
