Who knew The Dude was a Vet?!

When people say, the Coast Guard isn't really a military branch...

“Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man...” 🥛

You might have a hard time picturing "The Dude" as a member of the , but our man Jeff Bridges served for seven years as a Boatswain Mate!

Bridges maintained his Coast Guard obligations while he was working on two of the films for which he received Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor: The Last Picture Show (1971) and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974).

His last rank was Petty Officer Second Class and his primary unit was USCG Reserve Center San Luis Obispo, California.
