Halloween Safety in Eureka

Ghosts, goblins, and sugar-fueled superheroes will be out tonight! A few reminders to help everyone have a safe and fun Halloween:

• Drivers, slow down and watch for trick-or-treaters darting across streets. Costumes are great camouflage, but not for traffic.
• Parents, make sure costumes are easy to see and shoes fit—nobody wants to trip chasing free candy.
• Stay in well-lit areas, use sidewalks, and check treats before eating them. (If it looks like it came from a 1983 candy vault, maybe skip it.)

Our officers will be out and about tonight, keeping an eye on things and handing out smiles—not scares.

We would like to give a huge shoutout and congratulations to City Ambulance's first Paramedic upgrade of the 2024-2025 class, Nevan Corell!

Nevan is also apart of our Leadership team, and his title has now changed from "EMT - Lead" to "Paramedic - Lead." Our Operations Manager, Carson Vandiver, had the pleasure of handing over Nevan's hi-vis jacket and "Paramedic" patch this afternoon.

Becoming a Paramedic is quite the accomplishment, and we could not be more proud of you, Nevan!

We are practicing our skills this week at City Ambulance! On a regular day, we use a computer aided dispatch system called "Logis", this system allows us to electronically dispatch our crews to 911 calls and interfacility transports, view the units current locations on an active map and more! Today we've shut down all but the essentials in our Communications Center and our dispatchers are working on their memorization and radio traffic skills!

On Wednesday we invited our employees and their families out for some hot apple cider and some pumpkin pickin' to get everyone in the fall spirit. We had a blast, and thank you to our wonderful employees for all that you do!
