We also have General Admission for Aquaboggan at $23/each. These are valued at $39 a piece.

S**o’s Sidewalk Arts Festival returns to Main Street this weekend for its 55th year!

Hosted by S**o Main Street, the festival brings together dozens of artists in the heart of our City to celebrate art, creativity, and local culture.

DETOUR INFORMATION
A portion of Main Street will be closed, from Pepperell Square and Water Street to Thornton Avenue, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We ask motorists to please be aware of pedestrians in the area and follow the posted detour routes, outlined here on our map.

City Hall will be closed on Thursday, June 18 in observance of Juneteenth. Trash and recycling collection will not be affected by the holiday.

Q: What does Juneteenth celebrate?
A: On June 19, 1865, more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas to announce the end of the Civil War and that the last enslaved people were now free. Juneteenth was recognized as a federal holiday in 2021 to celebrate the end of slavery and honor the strength, resilience, and contributions of Black Americans throughout history and today.

Our 55th annual arts fest is happening! Here’s what you can look forward to:
We will be refreshing the paintings on our crosswalk by rapid rays and on Free St. The S**o Arts Commission will be conducting a kids eye spy game and offering a paint station, while S**o Parks and Rec will be hosting a paint project for ALL ages; Painting Adirondack chairs. All this with Robert A. Costigan who will be playing live music at post office park! With this event being back on Main Street, don’t forget to pay your favorite businesses a visit as well 💚💙

S**o’s Conservation Commission is encouraging residents to choose native plants this season!

Maine’s native plants are perfectly adapted to our climate, which makes them hardy, low‑maintenance, and beautiful year‑round. By choosing native species, you support local pollinators and wildlife, conserve water, and help protect the natural character that makes S**o such a special place to call home. Even small changes in your yard can make a meaningful difference for our local environment.

Start simple! Try swapping in a few native plants, let a corner of your lawn grow a little wilder, or take a moment to learn which invasive species to watch out for.

Together, let’s help S**o bloom!
