This Memorial Day, Marina Fire Department honors the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Every May, our crews proudly wear green in recognition of Military Appreciation Month as a small reminder that sacrifice, service, and dedication are never forgotten.

To all who served, and especially to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we remember you today and every day. 💚

We proudly recognize the incredible members of the Marina Fire Department.

👏 Firefighter of the Year – Engineer Sam Flores
Engineer Flores embodies what it means to serve with purpose. She consistently volunteers for projects that enhance our operational readiness—most notably taking the lead on updating and developing pre-fire plans across our city. Her initiative, organization, and unwavering commitment to firefighter safety reflect true ownership and leadership.

Beyond her work ethic, Sam brings a positive and professional attitude to every shift. Her enthusiasm is contagious, lifting crew morale and strengthening teamwork. 🚨 Marina Fire Department PSA

We’re seeing an increase in vehicles parked on red curbs and too close to fire hydrants.

Please remember:

🔺Red curbs mean no stopping or parking at any time
🔺Vehicles must be parked at least 15 feet from fire hydrants
🔺Hazard lights do not permit parking in restricted areas

When access is blocked, emergency response is delayed. That delay can put lives and property at risk.

California Vehicle Code §22514
Requires 15 feet of clearance from fire hydrants

California Vehicle Code §22500
Prohibits parking at red curbs

Violations may result in a citation.

Help keep Marina safe by keeping hydrants and red curbs clear at all times.

🚨 New “Silent Mode” Response? 🤫🚒

In an effort to reduce noise complaints, Marina Fire Department considered switching to a quieter response system…

Text alerts. Stealth approach. Whispered announcements.

Yeah… not happening 😏

🚨 APRIL FOOLS! 🚨

But on a real note: when you see emergency lights or hear sirens, please pull over safely and give first responders the space they need to do their job.
