🗣️ Help protect Marina’s water future! The City of Marina invites the community to provide virtual public comment at the California State Lands Commission’s meeting on Tuesday, June 23, and urge commissioners to deny CalAm’s desalination project lease.
💧This proposed lease would allow an industrial wellfield to be built through Marina’s protected dunes and beaches, threatening the city’s drinking water supply for a project that regional water data shows is unnecessary.
🏛️The City will open City Council Chambers (211 Hillcrest Ave) at 11:30 a.m. on June 23 as a central location for the community to gather, watch the meeting broadcast and provide public comment. Residents can also participate remotely via Zoom through the commission’s website at slc.ca.gov.
