Social Bridges Social Bridges® is a welcoming and supportive social-emotional learning program for children, teens, and young adults.

Helping children, teens, and young adults build social cognition, confidence, and connection through social skills groups, individual coaching, workshops, and more. Founded by clinical professionals with decades of experience, we help participants build confidence, friendships, and essential life skills through fun, structured groups and activities. Our groups are small and designed to support a wide range of learners—including those with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, or social challenges. Using our evidence-based Social Bridges® Toolbox curriculum, we teach tools for communication, self-regulation, problem-solving, and navigating relationships. We also offer:

In-person and virtual group options

Clubs and hangouts to practice skills in real-life settings

Summer camps with built-in SEL

Parent education and weekly updates to help families reinforce progress at home

At Social Bridges®, we believe social growth happens best in a caring community—and we’re here to partner with you every step of the way.

For those who celebrate, Halloween is just around the corner! The children and teens Social Bridges serve can sometimes find the chaos of Halloween overwhelming, so pre-teaching prior to trick-or-treating or spending time with friends can prepare your child or teen for what to expect. Prior to Halloween night, you could discuss the 5 ways to match with your child or teen:

1. Voice: When you say “trick-or-treat”, should you whisper, use a strong voice, or yell?
2. Body: Are we walking or running from house to house? Who do we need to stay with throughout the night?
3. Mood: Would it match the mood to scream in joy the entire night, cry, or engage with others happily while smiling and using polite statements?
4. Activity: When someone opens the door, what are you expected to say? How many pieces of candy are appropriate to take? What should you say after someone gives you candy?
5. Topic: If someone asks about your costume, how can you match the topic? Since it’s Halloween, you can match the topic by discussing what with other people?

In case Halloween becomes overwhelming, reviewing calming tools prior can help your child or teen get back to their Just Right feelings if they start to experience Little/Tremor or Big/Earthquake feelings. Some calming tools that could be reviewed are Pretzel Hug, Candle Breathing, Finger Tracing/Starfish Breathing, Balloon Breathing, and Rainbow Breathing. When in doubt, ask your child or teen to review their favorite calming tool with you!

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate! We hope you have a fabulous and spooky night!👻

Social Bridges Weekend Challenge!🎭

This weekend, take part in Social Bridges weekend challenge by completing Object Improv with your child or teen! To practice flexible thinking with your child or teen, find household objects and have each person come up with different ways to use them outside of their intended purpose. Instead of being ‘rigid’ and only allowing the object to be used for its intended purpose, children and teens can demonstrate flexibility by thinking of and accepting all the other things that the object could be/be used for! For example, a whiteboard eraser could be a phone, a brush, a block, and more!

Does your family accept this challenge? Ready, set, go!
