At this time, there is no indication that City email systems have been compromised. These emails appear to be attempts to fraudulently obtain payment through wire transfers and other methods, and may include attached documents or links.

At this time, there have been no reports of anyone falling victim to these attempts, and we are unaware of how many individuals may have received the emails.

DO NOT OPEN ANY ATTACHMENTS OR CLICK ANY LINKS WITHOUT FIRST VERIFYING THE SOURCE AND LEGITIMACY OF THE MESSAGE/ATTACHMENT.

Every year we try to provide some extra time for drivers to remove their studded tires. We completely understand the busyness of life for drivers to schedule the removal and tire shops getting slammed with the extra appointments being set. Now that April is coming to a close, please be sure to remove your winter tires!

Here's a quick reminder to change out your studded tires! Per RCW 46.37.420, studded tires are permitted to be used between November 1st and March 31st. This means that as of April 1st, vehicles with studded tires are subject to a citation/fine.

Our very own School Resource Officer Dave Howard was recognized for his dedicated service to Ridgeline High School! Congratulations, Officer Howard, and thank you for your continued service to the community and being a prime role model to our local youth!

A big round of applause to Officer Dave Howard of the Liberty Lake Police Department -- who also serves as the school resource officer at Ridgeline High School -- for his official Commendation for Excellence of Service this month from the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs!

Officer Howard was recognized for his high level of professionalism and leadership as part of the department. In its letter of commendation, the Washington Council of Police & Sheriffs praised Officer Howard for strengthening the LLPD through his expertise in fi****ms and defensive tactics instruction, and his willingness to help in the preparedness of his colleagues in the department.

The commendation letter added: "In your role as a school resource officer, you have demonstrated the influence law enforcement can have beyond traditional duties. At Ridgeline High School, you have become a trusted and approachable presence for students and staff alike. We learned of the relationships you have built and that students seek your guidance and mentorship, which speaks to your character and your ability to connect with others in a meaningful way.

"Your involvement as a track and field coach with the Police Activities League further reflects your commitment to investing in the lives of young people. We applaud your dedication to foster positive relationships between law enforcement and the next generation."
