Summit School eighth-grade students recently participated in a day of service at Saltese Flats Wetland 🌿. Students supported ongoing restoration efforts by laying bark, watering native plants, and pulling weeds throughout the site.

In total, 31 students and 8 chaperones contributed approximately 80 combined hours of service. Their teamwork and positive energy helped advance important habitat restoration work at the wetland 💧🪴.

Thank you to Spokane County Water & Waste for hosting this service learning experience at Saltese Flats Wetland and providing students with the opportunity to engage in hands-on environmental restoration work in a real-world setting.

Liberty Lake Elementary School recently welcomed a special visit from former U.S. Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers, who stopped by to donate 150 copies of the U.S. Constitution to Mr. Olson’s 5th grade classrooms 🇺🇸📚.

During the visit, she highlighted the important work students are doing to become engaged citizens and serve their communities. As part of their yearlong learning, 5th grade students prepare to take the U.S. Citizenship test, participate in community service, and are recognized at the end of the year with a certificate and a copy of the U.S. Constitution.

What a meaningful opportunity for students as they continue building strong foundations in civic understanding and involvement. 👏🏼

It was great to stop by Liberty Lake Elementary School today to donate 150 U.S. Constitutions to Mr. Olson for the 5th grade classrooms. The 5th graders are working hard to learn to be engaged citizens and serve their communities. As part of their learning over the year, they take the U.S. Citizenship test, give time to community service, and receive a special certificate and U.S. Constitution at the end of their school year. Way to go 5th graders!

Did you know that CMRLI provides free resources for Constitution Day? You can request US Constitutions and download resources at our website: www.cmrli.org/constitution-day.

👏 Congratulations to Spokane Valley Tech students on another year of strong accomplishments!

Washington State SkillsUSA Vice-President Abby Hill and instructor Salvatore Lorenzen recently attended SkillsUSA Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia, as part of the Washington State Leadership Delegation.

SVT also celebrated its annual pins and letters ceremony, recognizing the dedication and achievements of its students. Highlights from the year include:
⭐ FBLA becoming the school’s largest student organization with 40 members
🤖 First Robotics earning the spot as the second-largest club
🥇 Leela Shah making school history as SVT’s first-ever triple medalist at the SkillsUSA State Conference
💻 CyberPatriot teams excelling with two teams reaching the Platinum Division and another earning Gold Division honors

Congratulations to all of the students and advisors on a solid year of learning and achievement. Great work, SVT! 👏

Washington State SkillsUSA Vice-President Abby Hill and Instructor Salvatore Lorenzen attending SkillsUSA Nationals as part of the Washington State Leadership Delegation last week in Atlanta, Georgia.

Also we did our pins and letters ceremony last week. Some call outs:

-FBLA has the most members with 40 students!! Mr. Smith's goal is to have 50, so we are about there. 📁
-First Robotics is our second largest club 🤖
-Leela Shah has made school history as SVT’s first-ever triple medalist at a State Conference (SkillsUSA)! 🎖🎖🎖
-Our CyberPatriot teams did extremely well too: two teams made Platinum division and another made the Gold division 🌟

Well done SVT students! We can't wait to see what is in store next year.

Great news! This fall, school supplies will be provided to all CVSD elementary students for the 2026-2027 school year—thanks to the approval of your School Board. The School Board felt that the district should purchase these from local levy dollars to meet the basic educational needs for our youngest learners.

Supplies will be distributed to students by their teachers at the beginning of the school year. Parents will simply need to provide personal items for your child: a backpack and a water bottle.

The district is providing supplies for all 6,195 students in grades K-5 throughout the district.
