Updates for announcements, events, sports, extra curricular, etc. will be posted on this page. SITE POLICY: We are asking respect with the use of this site as it represents our school. This site is to be
a positive venue for the Rene Rost Middle School Community. We are asking that if you have complaints about our school to contact the administrators using private messages instead of using this as a negative forum in any shape, way or form. Please DO NOT post advertisements, endorsements for other organizations or businesses. This site is strictly used for sharing Rene Rost Middle School news and updates. The person/people posting ads, etc. will also be blocked. Your cooperation is appreciated! Photograph Protocol for this page: As most of you know, we have STRICT guidelines to adhere to in terms of student photographs placed online. In terms of this school page, 99% of the pictures that are shared and posted are directly from the school and cleared prior to posting. Shared pictures from parents:
1. Parents may send a couple of photos of their own child at each event. What needs to be done and what are the rules? If parents share photos of their OWN child, that is acceptable! Please keep in mind, you can only send photos of YOUR OWN CHILD, otherwise, you would need to get permission from the leaders or the person in charge of the waivers to be online at the school. (Not all students have permission to be online.) So we HAVE to respect that parent's wishes. The office has the list of waivers for students who can or can't be online.
2. If your child is in a school photo with any another child or in a group, that HAS TO BE cleared by the Principal (or person in charge of the waivers) at that school. What does that mean? That means if anyone else is in the shot EVEN if it is in the background, we can't post it unless those in charge clear it. This is the same rule that applies to the school websites. It is a complicated process, but one we have to follow according to the Vermilion Parish School Board Lawyer. We adhere to the same LAWS and RULES as the school websites. The best policy is to submit photos to the principal (or person in charge of waivers). Once cleared the leader (or person in charge of waivers) will forward it to one of the administrators of this page. After that, it will be posted to this page. If it isn't posted, that means it did not get clearance needed to post. Emails to forward photos to for clearance: [email protected]
TEACHERS at Rene Rost, if you have pictures to share... You can place your class pictures in Google Drive and Dropbox and send one of the administrators of this site a note.
