Commission Actions - October 19, 2026 Meeting
1. Commission approves resolution appointing Ms. Tori Taylor as Walker County’s Safety Coordinator.
- This position is required by County Risk Services (CRS) to coordinate the county’s safety programs and initiatives as required to be considered in good standing with insurance.
2. Commission approves $20,884.72 purchase through Sourcewell contract one (1) Kubota Zero-Turn Riding Mower for the Road and Bridge Department.
-The department’s three current mowers are 7, 13, and 20+ years old, and the addition of a new mower would help the department work more efficiently.
3. Commission approves Simple Grant $12,500 work plan to include application to EPA 2026 Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) national program for the replacement of outdated qualifying equipment.
- Pertaining to diesel equipment in the Solid Waste department.
4. Commission approves resolution approving Walker County Development Authority’s petition to designate property as Industrial Park.
-The official designation of 200 acres in East Walker County south of Exit 78, known as Heritage Industrial Park, as an Industrial Park.
