IYG - Empowering Queer Young People

IYG serves young people (12-24) who identify as LGBTQ+ and their peer allies. Empowering queer young people and inspiring younger generations since 1987.

IYG is the longest continuously operating queer youth organization in North America. IYG serves young people ages 12-24 who self-identify as LGBTQ+, as well as their allies. All programs and services are offered free of charge. IYG strives to provide safer spaces to build self-confidence, explore individualism, and develop friendships within the LGBTQ+ community. IYG promotes a space of acceptance, equity, and restorative practices. We also advocate for queer youth in schools, the community and through family support services.

🗳️ Your voice matters. You deserve to vote safely and confidently.

For transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse Hoosiers, going to the polls can come with concerns about being questioned, challenged, or turned away because of who you are. You deserve to have your voice heard without having to navigate those worries alone.

That’s why IYG is once again inviting you to TRANSform the Polls, an initiative to help make voting a safer, more affirming experience during Indiana’s General Election early voting period.

Through our safety in numbers approach, eligible voters can request to be accompanied by IYG staff when they go to the polls. We’ll work with you to coordinate a time and location based on staff availability, and if your first choice doesn’t work, we’ll explore alternatives together.

Today, we celebrate the vibrant cultures, rich traditions, and lasting contributions of Indigenous peoples and communities. We honor their histories, celebrate their resilience, and recognize the many ways they continue to shape our world.

In celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, all IYG centers will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026.
