Five developments in the central Indiana area have received funding for expanding their affordable housing programs through Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC). The funding will create 576 new units of affordable housing while sustaining 312 existing units.

Five developments have received millions in awards from the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program.

New study released by the FHCCI finds that since 2020 Marion County rents have increased, and vacancy rates have decreased. The study found an average increase of $200 to $300 per month. By establishing more affordable housing units in the Mapleton Fall Creek area, MFCDC is working toward a more just and inclusive society.

The report released Monday from the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana found a competitive housing market that benefits investors and corporations while causing troubles for lower-income renters, families and renters of color.
