Ms. Taylor's class is off and running. They are busy creating items with STEM tools, reading outside while waiting to be dismissed, making new friends and building a classroom community during morning meeting and at recess, sorting money into categories during math, and reading their daily English story together in groups.

Today, students rescued a fledgling that they found outside on the ground and unable to move. When they could not locate a nest, they brought it inside and made a temporary home. It was safely delivered to our friends at and is expected to be released in about a week.

Ms. Travis' 4th graders learned a new routine called “Jigsaw” where students become experts on a topic and then split into groups to share what they’ve learned with others. This helps maximize instructional time and gives student ownership of their learning.

Our amazing 2nd grade team has posted their very first projects on DonorsChoose! They are trying to collect books that their students will love to read and enjoy in their classrooms. 2nd graders got to explore a variety of books with Ms. Stewart and their teachers, and then made a request of the books they would want to have in their classroom library. Ms. Wakeland's 1st grade class is having a lot of fun exploring on the playground. Many are finding cicada shells, so they decided to bring some inside to study them. We view the environment as an extension of the learning that happens in our world.
