Check your pantries to see if you have any extra of these items listed, or if you're feeling generous, you can pick them up at the store! 🥫

The class that brings in the most items will earn a pizza party! 🍕

Last Friday, our Kindergarten students went to spend an exciting day at one of our favorite places, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center!

As part of a yearly tradition, our Kindergartners spent an entire day immersed in educational, imaginative play. With both inside and outside activities, how could this not be one of the most fun days ever?

We'd like to extend our thanks, as always, to the incredible staff at LMDC for hosting our Kindergarten Sailors and making sure they made lots of memories during their trip!

🚢🔬 The Fourth Grade Fleet Tribal Project was a SUCCESS last Thursday!

A huge shoutout to our three tribes and their homerooms:
🔵 Blue Tribe — Mrs. DeFrances/Poirrier’s Homeroom
🔴 Red Tribe — Mrs. Diaz’s Homeroom
🟢 Green Tribe — Mr. Lewis’s Homeroom

🧪🌎 Our fourth-grade scientists brought Social Studies to life through hands-on learning about tribal homelands, communication, cultural expression, and connections within a tribe. They enjoyed themselves just as much as they learned!

Fifth grade students in Ms. Lynch's ELA class are currently working on writing and developing essays. Seneca Hampton of Bingo Media LLC visited with the students to discuss the writing process and how it is used in media. The students had the opportunity to wear Meta cameras, set up a podcast studio, create and develop their own podcasts, write scripts, and prepare interview questions. As part of the experience, students interviewed Coach Smith and Dr. Henderson II.

📢 THIS FRIDAY!!!!

It's time for Central Elementary's Fall Festival! 🍂

Students will enjoy a dance, carnival games, bounce houses, and more! All of this fun will occur during school hours on Friday! ✨️

Students will need to bring $1 for the dance. 💵

Students have to maintain good behavior in order to go! They have to have less than two classroom infractions, office or bus referrals.

📚🍽️ Real-world learning in action!

Keating Helms from the Gulfport School District Technology Department visited all of Miss Robinson’s fifth-grade math classes to show students how multiplying decimals connects to real-life situations through his catering experience!

After putting their math skills to work, students got to enjoy delicious pulled pork sandwiches prepared by Mr. Helms himself!

A big thank-you to Mr. Helms for sharing his talents, time, and delicious food with our students and helping bring math to life! ⚓️🧡💙

Ms. Johns's 3rd grade class read a story called Dear Primo about two cousins who write letters to each other. One boy lives in America, and the other lives in Mexico. In their letters, they share different things about their lives, including the foods they eat, the activities they enjoy, and what life is like in their countries. In the story, one boy talks about eating pizza, while the other one talks about eating quesadillas! 🇺🇸🇲🇽

While discussing different cultures, traditions, and foods while celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, the class decided to connect to the story in a fun (and delicious!) way. They got to eat both pizza and quesadillas! 🍕🌮

Students in Ms. Scoby's 2nd grade class read and AR tested on the book Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper. After reading the book, they were able to try pumpkin soup! For most, it wasn't the best thing they had ever eaten, but they did have fun! 🍲
