Gulf Coast Connection Services (GCCS) helps older adults stay confident, connected, and safe in an increasingly digital world. Founded by healthcare professional Vanessa Welch, GCCS provides hands-on technology education and support for seniors in nursing homes, senior living communities, and private homes.
Services include facilitated one-on-one family video calls, personal device support, technology education, interactive workshops, digital activities, games, and private in-home assistance. GCCS coordinates each family call from start to finish so residents and loved ones can focus on face-to-face connection.
GCCS uses 32-inch ApoloSign mobile smart displays that can be rolled directly to a resident’s bedside or activity area. Their touchscreens support video calls, interactive games, music, activities, and guided technology assistance—making participation easier for residents who may have difficulty using smaller devices or leaving their rooms.
GCCS was inspired by nursing home residents who shared that they need technology help but hesitate to burden busy facility staff. GCCS fills that gap with compassionate support that protects each resident’s independence and dignity.
Through GCCS’s community-backed model, businesses, technology companies, civic organizations, and community members can sponsor nursing home Connection Days, equipment, or resident programs at no cost to the facility, resident, or family. With facility approval and respect for resident privacy, partners may be recognized through GCCS outreach, program materials, events, social content, impact stories, and Chamber exposure.
GCCS’s mission is “Restoring the Human Side of Care”—using technology to bring people closer together while creating opportunities for community partnership.
