Leo Zerilli returns to the Board after several years away, bringing nearly 30 years of leadership experience in global wealth and investment management. We’re also excited to welcome Luke McCabe, Vice President, Senior Business Banking Relationship Manager at Bank of America, whose background spans financial services and leadership in the U.S. Army.

Both bring valuable experience, a strong commitment to community, and a shared belief in Wellspring’s mission.

The Wellspring Freeman House Project is growing. 📖

Building on the "History Lives Here" exhibit, Wellspring has completed a new curriculum-aligned educational program exploring the story of the Freeman family, a prominent Black family who owned and lived at our West Gloucester property for three generations beginning in 1826.

Made possible with support from ’ Expand Massachusetts Stories initiative, this next phase creates new ways to bring this important local history into classrooms and the community.

It was a pleasure welcoming the Cocotree Kids team to Wellspring’s Gloucester headquarters yesterday!

Throughout the year, Cocotree Kids provides new children’s underwear for the families participating in Wellspring’s programs, meeting an everyday need that makes a meaningful difference.

As vital community partner for Wellspring, the impact of Cocotree Kids’ support is felt across every program area, with more than 300 families receiving essential supplies through each contribution from this growing partner. By helping meet an everyday necessity, this support removes one more barrier, allowing families and individuals to focus on building stability, pursuing education, advancing their careers, and achieving their goals.

During their visit, the Cocotree Kids team met with Wellspring’s Homelessness Prevention team and President & Executive Director Melissa Dimond (pictured), and learned more about our history, programs, and the impact of our partnership.

Thank you, Cocotree Kids, for your continued partnership and commitment to our community. Together, we’re helping ensure essential resources reach the families who need them most, and we look forward to all that’s ahead.

We are honored to share that this week Wellspring was awarded a $50,000 gift from the Cummings Foundation through its Making a Difference Dollars (MAD$) program.

The MAD$ program recognizes nonprofit organizations making an exceptional impact in their communities. This gift builds on the Foundation's generous, multi-year investment in support of helping families and individuals achieve financial stability.

We are deeply grateful to the Cummings Foundation and its Site Visit Committee volunteers for their continued belief in Wellspring's mission. Their investment helps us continue creating opportunities for community members across the North Shore.
