If you receive a text from the City of George West, to pay your utility bill, DO NOT reply. It is a scam. The City of George West does not send text messages to pay your bill.

City of George West Gas Customers, while working to improve the City’s aging Gas system and remove an aging high pressure line the City gas crew turned off a valve causing the city to lose gas pressure, throughout the whole gas system. Pressure has been restored and gas crews are out making sure customers have gas and lighting pilot lights. If there is no answer at the door the gas will be temporarily turned off until a crew-member can meet and turn the gas on. This is to ensure public safety is priority. If you need assistance please don’t hesitate to call. 361-449-6849
