🇺🇸 D-DAY COUNTDOWN TIMELINE
June 4, 1944 (Today, 82 Years Ago)

Hundreds of thousands of Allied troops are already packed into camps across southern England.

Ships are loaded.

Paratroopers are preparing equipment.
Soldiers are writing final letters home.

The invasion was originally scheduled for June 5, but weather forecasts predict dangerous seas and low cloud cover.

One of the hardest parts of military life isn't the long hours, field exercises, or deployments.

It's saying goodbye to good people.

Today was my last opportunity to grab a photo with my Religious Affairs Specialist before he heads to his next assignment. We've shared challenges, victories, countless conversations, and the privilege of serving Soldiers together.

The Army moves us to different places, but the impact of great teammates lasts long after the PCS orders are signed.

Thank you for your friendship, professionalism, and service. Your next unit is gaining an outstanding Soldier and leader.

Until our paths cross again, safe travels and Godspeed.

Most people see the medal.
What they don't see are the stories behind it.

While at the Marche Internationale de Diekirch in Luxembourg, I had the opportunity to sit down with Ezekiel and hear about his rucking journey, what motivates him to keep showing up, and why events like this continue to attract people from around the world.

Every rucker has a story. Every mile means something different. That's what makes this community so special.
Watch the interview and hear firsthand why thousands continue to challenge themselves, build friendships, and turn ordinary miles into extraordinary accomplishments.

What started as a walk becomes a goal. What starts as a goal becomes an achievement.

Turn your miles into medals.

We had to give the old ruck sack a break. we put on a lot of miles during the Luxembourg. My daughter was kind enough to be my rucking partner on day two.

A sincere thank you to Jacque, a retired Warrant of the Dutch Air Force, for taking the time to share his experiences and insights.

It was a privilege to hear firsthand about his military service, the lessons he learned throughout his career, and his continued passion. Conversations like these remind us that while uniforms, languages, and flags may differ, the values of service, sacrifice, and commitment are shared across generations and nations.

Thank you, Jacque, for your service and for allowing us to learn from your remarkable journey.
