Eighty-two years later, the 82nd Airborne Division honors the fallen Paratroopers during the Hill 95 commemoration ceremony at Neufmesnil, France June 4, 2026. This ceremony pays tribute to the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment who bravely fought in their final battle of the invasion of Normandy. This Hill marks the site of one of the bloodiest battles of the 508th PIR during the Normandy campaign.

Paratroopers across the Division were pushed to their limit in the high-intensity test of lethality, known as the Best Squad Competition. Forging lethal squads ensures the Division is composed of cohesive, disciplined teams ready to fight tonight and win tonight.

This year’s 82nd Airborne Division Best Squad came from 1-505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team.
