WES reads! Make sure you get your children involved in summer reading! πŸ’™πŸ“š

Governor Kay Ivey has officially launched the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge for Alabama students entering Kindergarten–8th grade!

Students are encouraged to read 6 books this summer and complete a reading log along with a short reflection or drawing about what they learned about the United States of America. As our nation prepares to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, this is such a fun way to keep kids reading, learning, and growing all summer long!

Completed entries must be mailed by August 1, 2026.

What an incredible few days in the Warrior Theatre!

For the first time in over 20 years, the stage lights came back on for a school play, and what a beautiful return it was. Watching these students bring their characters to life with confidence, creativity, and joy was something truly special.

To our cast members β€” thank you for your hard work, courage, dedication, and countless hours of practice. You made us laugh, smile, and feel so proud. Your talent and teamwork made this production unforgettable.

To our families β€” thank you for every costume adjustment, late-night practice run, ride to rehearsal, encouraging word, and act of support along the way. None of this would have been possible without you.

To our sponsors and stage crew, sound and lighting crew β€” thank you for believing in our students and helping make this dream a reality. Your generosity and encouragement helped bring the Warrior Theatre back to life.

And to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, cheered, shared posts, or supported in any way β€” thank you for reminding our students how valued and celebrated they are.

This production was the revival of something special in our school community, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make history in the Warrior Theatre once again. ❀️🎭
