Governor Braun recently announced nearly $19 million in federal grants to expand workforce training, strengthen apprenticeships and connect Hoosiers with high-demand careers. The funding supports four initiatives:

✅ $6.7 million for industry-driven skills training in advanced manufacturing, information technology, construction and healthcare;
✅ $3.09 million to establish registered apprenticeship pathways for special education teachers;
✅ $3.9 million to expand registered apprenticeships, strengthen career and technical education counseling and support workforce development partnerships; and
✅ $5.1 million to provide training and employment opportunities for justice-involved adults in skilled trades, manufacturing and transportation.

The investments, which support programs through 2031, emphasize employer-driven training, regional workforce partnerships and expanded earn-and-learn opportunities. The funding aligns with our Indiana Prosperity 2035 priorities of strengthening talent pipelines, expanding work-based learning and better aligning workforce training with employer needs.
