We're honored to receive a 40,000-pound food donation from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in collaboration with America250 as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration.

This incredible gift will help stock shelves, support our partner agencies and provide nutritious food to individuals and families across our 23-county service area.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Together, we're feeding people today and ending hunger tomorrow. ❤️

Feeding families should not be up for debate.

Up to 250,000 Illinoisans are at risk of losing their SNAP benefits due to federal changes to the program—putting them at immediate risk of hunger.

The Illinois budget will be finalized NEXT WEEK and we're asking lawmakers to protect families cut off from SNAP with two programs to provide timely relief to households that have lost this lifeline benefit because of federal changes.

Contact Illinois lawmakers today with this link: bit.ly/ILSNAP Help us save SNAP!

Kids may get a summer break, but hunger does not.

More than 20 million children receive meals at school during the academic year. During the summer, millions lose access to meals that help fuel their days.

In our 23-county service area, 1 in 6 children miss meals — not by choice.

Join us in helping ensure no child goes hungry this summer. More to come on our Summer Match program.

Choose Iowa connects Iowans to local food sources.

Through a 1:1 match program, all six Iowa food banks share $200,000 to purchase food directly from Iowa farmers.

In 2025, River Bend Food Bank received $33,000 through the program to purchase from Choose Iowa farmers.

Our most purchased item – cheese curds and shredded cheese from Cinnamon Ridge Farms!

Cinnamon Ridge Farms is a family-owned farm in Donahue, IA, owned by John and Joan Maxwell, who are great supporters of River Bend.

We’re proud to partner with farmers who help nourish our communities.

Here is an overview of Illinois’s Farm to Food Bank program!

Feeding Illinois connects food banks with farmers so they can purchase seconds, surplus, or seasonal produce from participating farms. Food banks must meet the match requirement to access this program.

In 2025, River Bend Food Bank received $300,000 from Farm to Food Bank to purchase items.

The items we purchase the most from this program are pork, beef, milk and cheese.

Here at River Bend Food Bank, we greatly benefit from programs such as this one to ensure everybody eats!
