Everyday Heroes were on hand to help start the school day at Dandridge Elementary School!

As part of Red Ribbon Week, Dandridge Elementary is embracing the theme "Everyday Heroes" to encourage healthy choices and positive lifestyles. On today's "Peace Out to Drugs" spirit day, the Dandridge Police Department and Dr. Tommy Arnold greeted students during morning arrival while students and staff celebrated by wearing tie-dye and neon colors.

Thank you to the Dandridge Police Department for helping make Ribbon Week a meaningful and memorable experience for students!

Please join us in celebrating Jefferson Co High School teacher Ms. Haley Gentry!

Ms. Gentry, who leads the biology department at JCHS, was recognized during last night's Jefferson County Board of Education Work Session after being selected to serve on the Tennessee Department of Education's 2026-27 Science Advisory Council.

Chosen from more than 200 applicants, she is one of just 26 educators selected statewide and one of only three chosen from our CORE region. Through this role, she will help provide educator insight and support science teaching and learning across Tennessee.

We are proud of Ms. Gentry for representing Jefferson County Schools and helping shape the future of science education for students across our state!

🚁 It wasn't your typical first period at Jefferson Co High School. Students enrolled in health-related classes had an exciting opportunity to get an up-close look at a helicopter, explore its features, and learn about its role in emergency medical services!

Experiences like these bring classroom learning to life, expose students to potential career pathways, and connect education to real-world opportunities that will positively impact their future. At Jefferson County Schools, we're proud to provide meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that inspire students to explore their futures and prepare for success beyond the classroom.
