The District Nominating Committee convened in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on October 30, 2025, to select the District Governor for 2028-2029. The Committee included Past District Governors Bobby Davis, Cindy Gammons-Freels (chair), Susie Cantrell, Rob Dansereau, and Past RI President John Germ.
The Committee selected Frank Hughes, Chattanooga Rotary Club, as the District Governor for 2028-2029.
Rotary International By-Laws provide for certain clubs to be able to submit challenging candidates to this selection. Any club in District 6780 meeting the criteria in RI Bylaws Section 14.020.8 may propose a challenging candidate pursuant to the submission process described in the RI Bylaws. A club wishing to offer a challenging candidate for consideration for District Governor 2028-2029 must submit the name of the challenging candidate via club resolution to District Governor David Carroll before November 30, 2025. Should no challenging candidates be received, the selection of the Nominating Committee will stand.
