This morning, many gathered to honor and commemorate those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their community and country. The annual JCPD Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Service was led by Master Chaplain Mark Campbell while the JCPD honor guard presented the wreath. We deeply appreciate those in attendance.

Each May, our nation comes together to honor the courage, sacrifice and dedication of law enforcement officers. Originally established by presidential proclamation President John F. Kennedy in 1962, National Police Week includes Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15th and a week of observances recognizing officers who given their lives in the line of duty, as well as those who continue to serve and protect our communities with dedication and courage.

We find it disturbing, too.

This Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, we’re encouraging safety on the road for everyone. Just like seat belts and car seats, motorcycle helmets are tested and proven to help prevent serious injury in the event of a crash or wipeout. Gear up for every ride!
