Midwest Railway Preservation Society We are dedicated to collecting, preserving, restoring, displaying, and operating railway equipment for the education and enjoyment of the public.

MRPS Membership is 100% volunteer, including our Board and Officers. We are from every age, profession, background and Skill level. Some of us love steam; others are hooked on diesel. Some of us volunteer at the Roundhouse; some simply support what we are doing through their Membership dues. But there is one thing we all have in common: the determination to preserve the equipment and facilities of Northeast Ohio railroading past.

Last week I attended the AAPRCO (America Association of Private Rail Car Owner, Inc) in Charlotte,NC about future private cars trips and with Amtrak. The situations with ours cars traveling on their system. Plus there are several Shortline railroads that we can do trips on. More to come as they develop.

The street car we are doing for the the State of Maryland is shown here just before the water test. We will fill all the boxes up with water and see how the structure bounces back when we drain the water so it can pass the building codes for the State of Maryland.

We sold our power car to the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad and it is on its way with a new paint job.

Late night truck painting on the Palm Point car. These trucks where sand blasted and welding up some small minor cracks. We will be changing them over to rotating end caps bearings. They had the old plain bearing from 1929

We changed out the old sodium light for newer LED lights on the building also.
