🏴‍☠️🎉 What a SWEET way to wrap up Q1! 🍦

This morning, we celebrated an awesome first quarter by recognizing our athletic teams, honor roll students, clubs, and all the amazing things happening at River Bend! We also presented team awards to celebrate our school teams for their great behavior, excellent attendance, and growth throughout the quarter. We are so proud of all our Pirates and their hard work!

We ended the celebration with a little extra fun by turning Mr. Byrd into a HUMAN SUNDAE! 🍨😂 We think he was a pretty good sport about it!

We’re excited to IGNITE Q2 this week and can’t wait to see our Pirates continue to grow, learn, and shine! 🔥 Here’s to another great quarter! ❤️🏴‍☠️

Bring on the Books: Scary Edition! 🎃📖

Ms. Exon’s students stopped by the River Bend Media Center for a SPOOKTACULAR edition of Bring on the Books!

Students participated in a book tasting, watched book trailers created by publishers and students, and explored some spine-chilling reads! 👻 We even snuck in a little Digital Citizenship, discussing copyright and the importance of giving credit through citations in book trailers.

After browsing, students checked out books that caught their attention.

Our message to students? Find that just-right book. And if it turns into a DNF (Did Not Finish) or you discover it just isn’t for you, that’s okay. Bring it back and try another. Reading is about finding books YOU enjoy.

No tricks, just treats… and great books! 🎃📚
