Cornerstone Community Outreach Addressing Homelessness, Providing Shelter, Accepting People, Finding Home. http://ccolife.org/donate FUNDING IN PART BY:

US Dept.

Brief History-
Cornerstone began as a small group effort in 1989, with a few people working to meet the needs of their neighbors. At that time, women with children were becoming the new faces of homelessness in America. CCO felt drawn to meet this need to serve and shelter women with children. Over the following 20 years our programs have expanded to serve around 500 men, women, and children daily. As a result, hundreds of singles and families are given an opportunity to reclaim their lives from the devastating effects of poverty and homelessness. Loss of job, lack of resources, health problems, and addictions are some of the causes of homelessness for our residents. But no matter their background or situation, all of our residents have come to Cornerstone seeking help. Our goal is to meet them where they are at and help them begin building a new life, one step at a time. of Housing and Urban Development, CSBG, Chicago Dept. of Family Support Services,
Illinois State Board of Education,
and our wonderful donors.

Cold nights are back in Chicago. CCO keeps 257 beds warm every night - 145 households made it home this year. Getting there takes warm socks, hygiene items, and kitchen basics more than it takes speeches.

đź’™ Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness make the biggest impact.

A warm smile, a helping hand, or simply taking the time to listen can remind someone that they matter.

Together, we can build a community rooted in compassion, dignity, and care. 🏡

✨ How will you spread kindness today?

🏠 Why does homelessness prevention matter?

Housing stability is about more than having a roof overhead. It’s about having the support and resources needed to move forward.

Early intervention, housing assistance, and community services can help people navigate difficult circumstances before they become housing emergencies.

Chicago’s proposed 2027 budget includes additional funding for homelessness prevention and support. These investments are still proposals, not approved funding.

At Cornerstone Community Outreach, we believe strong communities begin with people supporting one another. đź’™

Thank you to Batavia Covenant Church for assembling and distributing kits for the local encampments!

As the weather gets colder, remember our neighbors who are living outside. Hot hands, quality socks, gloves, blankets, and hats are some of the most asked-for items. 🧦🧤🧣

We love Project I Am!

They put together 500 blessing bags to support people experiencing homelessness throughout Chicago. We are honored to be one of Project I Am's oldest partners and we couldn't be more inspired by what Jahkil and his team are doing.
