Meet our September Alumni Spotlight - Rahman Khan from Class 25!

If you've attended Opening Weekend over the last 19 years, chances are you've experienced Rahman's powerful Frames of Reference session. Through his work at Spectrum and his commitment to mentoring others, Rahman continues to help leaders grow with greater understanding, compassion, and purpose.

This year, his dedication to serving others is being recognized with the 2026 Vernon E. Jordan Award from the Urban League of Central Carolinas. Congratulations, Rahman!

The journey begins!

Here's a sneak peek from Class 48's Orientation earlier this month, where the energy in the room was undeniable. A huge thank you to our facilitators: Charles Page (Cool Spring Center) and John Berkley (Competitive Edge) for equipping the cohort for an impactful program year ahead.

It was amazing to meet the 52 outstanding leaders who make up this year's class. We're excited to watch this cohort learn, grow, build meaningful connections, and strengthen their leadership throughout the year.

A special shoutout to our Board Chair, Lakeisha Temple (LC40), and our LC47 Lead Team for their support in making the day a success.

What an amazing weekend!
After 20 years, there are still surprises... like the power going out.
We’re incredibly grateful to the team at the Blowing Rock Conference Center for responding so quickly and thoughtfully, and doing everything possible to keep everyone comfortable and cared for throughout this year’s Opening Weekend.
To the Blue Ridge Learning Center, thank you for your adaptability and partnership. The work you facilitated will have a lasting impact on LC48 throughout the rest of the year.
To Rahman Khan (LC25) and Lakeisha Temple (LC40), thank you for spending part of your Saturday with us and leaning into the power of authentic storytelling.
To the LC staff and Lead Team, thank you for making it a great weekend.
