Congratulations to our Kind Heart, Bright Mind Award, Maverick Hoffmeister. Maverick shows a kind heart every day by helping es**rt one of our friends whenever the class walks in line. He takes pride in making sure his friend feels safe and supported. Maverick’s caring actions are a wonderful example of what it means to be an Alton Cub!

EVERY CUB COUNTS — 3-DAY POWER RANKINGS
Three days are in the books, and the standings are starting to take shape!

1. 3rd Grade — 12 points
Third Grade is sitting comfortably at No. 1 after three straight big performances. They have posted 98%, 98%, and 99% attendance, earning 4 points every single day. That is championship-level consistency!

2. 4th Grade — 5 points
Fourth Grade made a strong move into second place after improving to 97% on Tuesday and adding more points on Wednesday. They are starting to build some momentum.

3. 2nd Grade — 4 points
Second Grade made the biggest jump of the day! After being scoreless through Tuesday, they came through with 99% attendance on Wednesday and earned 4 points to move into third place.

T-4. Kindergarten — 0 points
Kindergarten has not cracked the points column yet, but the week is far from over. One strong attendance day can change the standings in a hurry.

T-4. 1st Grade — 0 points
First Grade is still looking for its first points of the week. There is plenty of time left to make a move and start climbing the rankings.

Congratulations to our first staff member receiving the Kind Heart, Bright Mind Award, Mrs. Shamika Hudgen. Mrs. Hudgen is a wonderful example of a Kind Heart and Bright Mind. She welcomes our students, families, and staff each day with kindness, patience, and a willingness to help. Her positive attitude and caring spirit help make Alton a special place to be!

EVERY CUB COUNTS — FINAL WEEKLY POWER RANKINGS for August 24-28
The week of August 24–28 is officially in the books, and we have our first weekly attendance champion!

1. 4th Grade — 16 points 🏆
Fourth Grade takes the top spot after one of the most consistent weeks in the field. They scored points every single day and saved their best performance for Friday with 99% attendance. Consistency wins championships, and this week it earned 4th Grade the crown!

2. 2nd Grade — 13 points
Second Grade made the biggest midweek charge of the week. After a slower start, they exploded with 100% attendance on Wednesday and followed it with 99% on Thursday. That two-day surge pushed them all the way into second place.

3. 3rd Grade — 11 points
Third Grade stayed in the championship conversation for most of the week. Their 98% attendance on Tuesday helped them grab an early share of the lead, and they continued putting points on the board throughout the week.

4. 1st Grade — 9 points
First Grade showed some serious fight after a tough start. They went scoreless the first two days, then responded with 98% Wednesday, 97% Thursday, and 95% Friday. That is what finishing strong looks like!

5. Kindergarten — 6 points
Kindergarten had a couple of strong 96% attendance days that kept them in the race. They may have finished fifth this week, but one strong stretch can change the rankings quickly.

Congratulations to our Kind Hearts, Bright Minds Award, Walt Marek. Walt is a wonderful example of what it means to have a Kind Heart and a Bright Mind! He is always kind and caring toward his friends and comes to school each day ready and excited to learn. Walt actively participates in class, eagerly answers questions, and shows a genuine love for learning. His kindness toward others and enthusiasm in the classroom make him truly deserving of this award!
