🏆 Congratulations to Legal Access Department Program Coordinator Ana Prado on receiving the quarterly Staff Excellence Award! 🎉 👏🏼

“Ana joined the Legal Access Department as a program coordinator in January 2025 and has done truly impressive work during her time with us. From the start, she distinguished herself through her remarkable professionalism, competence, and willingness to step up wherever she was needed.”

“Most recently, Ana had the opportunity to excel through her work coordinating the State Bar’s annual Poverty Law Conference and Pro Bono Coordinators Retreat.”

“In conjunction with the conference, she coordinated meetings for five substantive task forces involving more than 50 participants, as well as the Poverty Law Section’s meeting, attended by more than 65 people.”

“Putting together this many meetings and events would ordinarily have been a team effort relying substantially on support from both the Legal Access Department’s project coordinator and office manager. With both of those positions unfilled for parts of the year, Ana took on an extraordinary amount of additional responsibility.”

“She coordinated sessions and speakers, managed attendees and volunteers, handled venue and hotel logistics, oversaw food and numerous other logistical details, and generally kept this complicated series of events running smoothly.”

A new chapter begins today for Texas’ newest lawyers.

During the October 2026 New Lawyers Induction Ceremony, State Bar of Texas President G. David Smith welcomed the new attorneys and offered encouragement for the professional journeys ahead.

TYLA President Armin Salek highlighted resources available to support them throughout their careers, including the Texas Lawyers’ Assistance Program. Samuel David Murray, the high scorer on the July 2026 Texas Bar Exam, addressed his fellow new lawyers during the ceremony.

The ceremony concluded as Supreme Court of Texas Chief Justice Jimmy Blacklock administered the attorney’s oath.

Congratulations to the newest members of the Texas legal community. The State Bar of Texas is proud to welcome you to the profession!
