๐ŸŽ“ Congratulations to Anika Jacob, this year's Thomas H. Wilson Scholarship Award recipient! This morning at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting in Houston, outgoing ILS Chair Kathleen Campbell Walker presented the $1,500 scholarship to Anika โ€” a rising 3L and J.D. Candidate 2027 at the University of Houston Law Center โ€” for her winning essay in our annual Human Rights Essay Contest.

Her essay, "Out of Sight, Out of Rights: Closing India's Labor Law Gaps for Keralite Migrant Workers in Gulf Countries," reflects both her personal roots in Kerala, India, and her passion for international labor law. Anika is a member of the Houston Journal of International Law, incoming Senior Articles Editor, and Co-Founder of the South Asian Student Law Association.
