The Archives recently received two digital collections relating to the early history of Manor and Webberville, the Banks McLaurin papers and the Eggleston Dick Townes papers.

The papers of the Banks McLaurin collection were compiled and used to create the “Webberville and the Manor Cemetery” publication in 1995, which includes extensive information on the history of the two communities and its residents.

The Townes papers are those of attorney Eggleston Dick Townes, who lived in Manor in the 1850s and 1860s. The papers include records of John F. Webber, early Travis County settler and namesake of Webberville.

Thank you to the donors for allowing us to make these records available to the public! View the materials at https://traviscountyarchives.starter1ua.preservica.com/uncategorized/SO_196a27b4-6041-41e3-b347-6ba02afa7d36/
