🕊️Religious freedom is a fundamental human right. Everyone should be free to practice their faith, change their beliefs, or choose not to follow a religion without fear of discrimination or persecution.

The United States reaffirms its commitment to protecting this fundamental freedom and promoting respect for people of all faiths and beliefs. Upholding religious freedom helps build more peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous societies.

The National Museum of American Diplomacy in Washington, D.C., explores how diplomacy has shaped the United States and its relationships with the world.

For those of us looking at the world through an African lens, the museum’s story is especially interesting.

Its displays on global regions, international relationships, treaties, and the work of diplomats invite us to think about Africa’s own place in the history and practice of diplomacy.

From independence movements to today’s global partnerships, Africa has its own rich diplomatic story — and there is much to discover when these histories meet.

Over the last 25 years, the Americans all over the world who were affected by 9/11 have told their stories. Read about 3 Americans who were shaped by 9/11:

The attacks killed 2,977 innocent people ... and moved countless Americans to search for survivors, comfort victims' families and remember the heroes we lost.

U.S. Mission to the African Union Economic and Public Affairs Chief Cyprian Christian joined the የአፍሪካ አመራር ልህቀት አካዳሚ African Leadership Excellence Academy (AFLEX) for a validation seminar on a new leadership curriculum grounded in African indigenous knowledge and informed by global best practices, digital transformation, and innovation.

Developed by The Fulbright Program Specialist Dr. Qyana Stewart through her work with AFLEX, the curriculum seeks to equip emerging African leaders with practical tools to navigate today’s challenges and opportunities.

We are proud to support this exchange of American and African expertise and AFLEX’s efforts to strengthen leadership development across the continent.

Dolly Parton’s music and generosity reached audiences across generations and borders.

Recalling a visit to Johannesburg and a safari in South Africa, she spoke warmly of the opportunity to experience the continent’s people and cultures.

Through her Imagination Library, she also helped place hundreds of millions of books into the hands of young children around the world.

We remember an extraordinary American artist and humanitarian whose music, kindness, and love of learning inspired people worldwide.

In accordance with the Presidential proclamation honoring her memory, the U.S. flag will fly at half-staff at U.S. diplomatic facilities around the world through sunset on September 1.

From infrastructure and energy to digital connectivity and regional trade, we see growing opportunities that create value on both sides of the Atlantic.
