Business Walks is more than a program, it’s a movement built on real conversations with local businesses.

106 businesses
Year one: where it all began
⬇️
137 businesses
2025: stronger connections, deeper insights
⬇️
🎯 150 businesses
2026 goal: even more voices, even more opportunity

Because every number is more than data, it’s a conversation started.

🏢 WHO WE ARE. WHAT WE DO.

The Portage Economic Response Team (PERT) works to understand the needs of businesses across the Region of Portage la Prairie and help create a stronger local economy.

Through Business Walks, we connect directly with local businesses to listen, learn, and understand what’s happening on the ground.

💬 We hear your concerns.
💡 We identify opportunities.
🤝 We build connections.
📈 We use what we learn to help shape programs, initiatives, and advocacy efforts.

Because economic development starts with understanding the people and businesses that make our community thrive.

🚶 This September 25th, we're coming back.

You speak. We listen. Together, we move forward.

🔄 WHAT'S CHANGED SINCE WE LAST TALKED?

That's one of the questions we'll be asking local businesses this September.

Maybe you've grown.

Maybe you've faced new challenges.

Maybe you've discovered a new opportunity.

Maybe something that concerned you last year has improved.

Whatever your experience, we want to hear it.

This year, PERT is aiming to connect with 150 businesses across the region.
