Today we had a presentation from fellow Rotarian and CEO of Southport Aerospace Centre; Nathan Peto. Nathan spoke on the upcoming changes they are going to be seeing out at Southport with the Future Aircrew Training construction schedule. There were slides of the new buildings we’ll expect to see being built and the future layout of the land as well.

Without further ado, may we present to you the 2026 Rotary Legacy project!!

ROTARY PLAYSPACE

Rotary Playspace is a 2 storey indoor children’s play area built onto Stride Place.

Watch one kid play hockey while the other one stays entertained on the play equipment!

Free to use and accessible to anyone, this project ticks all of the boxes for a great addition to our community!

All of the proceeds from Friday nights Gala and all of the proceeds from last weeks Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign will go straight into starting up the fundraising for this great project.

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Portage la Prairie and our 75th Anniversary Committee, thank you for your incredible support. Tomorrow is the event of the year, and we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with you on May 8, 2026 at Canad Inns.



Our committee has been working tirelessly to ensure this is a night to remember. We are particularly excited to officially unveil our 75th Anniversary Legacy Project, which will benefit our community for years to come.



To ensure you and your guests have a seamless evening, please note the following details:



•Attire: Formal
•Arrival: Doors open at 5:00 PM.
•Reception: The bar will be open (credit/debit/cash bar, no tickets) and a selection of appetizers—including Cheese Stuffed Mushroom Caps, Smokey Mountain BBQ Meatballs, Breaded Fantail Shrimp and more—will be served from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
•Dinner: An exquisite 4-course meal will begin at approximately 6:45 PM in Room Ambassador H.
•Entertainment: Following a program on Rotary’s local history and the Legacy Project announcement, Mach 10 (the Winnipeg Jets’ house band) will take the stage. The dance floor will be open until 11:30!
