πŸ›οΈ Taking the Whitsundays' voice to Canberra.

This week, Mayor Ry Collins and CEO Warren Bunker are in our nation's capital advocating for the projects, funding and opportunities our region needs to keep pace with growth.

As one of Australia's fastest-growing regional communities, it's important that the Whitsundays secures its fair share of Federal investment to support local roads, community infrastructure, disaster resilience, social services and future jobs.

Discussions have focused on:

βœ… Securing funding for critical infrastructure and transport projects
βœ… Protecting disaster recovery funding for regional communities
βœ… Supporting housing, childcare, aged care and community services
βœ… Growing new industries including aerospace, defence and biofuels
βœ… Expanding education and training opportunities closer to home
βœ… Strengthening Great Barrier Reef protection and stewardship programs

Big decisions are made in Canberra. That's why Council is committed to ensuring the Whitsundays has a strong voice at the table and continues to secure the investment our growing communities deserve.
