Glenorie Rural Fire Brigade is a Volunteer community based fire brigade, and a part of the NSW Rural Fire Service. Our volunteers provide fire and emergency response to Glenorie and surrounding areas. Our station is located at 2654 Old Northern Rd, Glenorie, next to the Les Shore Recreation Reserve, approximately 1 kilometre north of the village. The station is open Monday nights from 7:30pm, and Saturday afternoons from 2 pm (subject to operational requirements). New members are always welcome. Simply message us via this page, give us a call and leave your details, or drop into the station when it is open to find out more. HAZARD REDUCTION BURN: KENTHURST

Fire crews are planning to take advantage of favourable conditions over the coming days to undertake a planned hazard reduction burn to prepare for the Bush Fire Danger Period.

A hazard reduction burn is scheduled for Thursday (29th October) through to Sunday (1st November). The burn will be in the vicinity of Porters Road, Kenthurst. The smoke from this burn may be visible throughout surrounding areas, including Annangrove Road, Pitt Town Road, and Cattai Ridge Road, from Thursday through to Sunday.

Residents in the immediate vicinity (Porters Rd, Cadwells Rd, Smeardon Pl, Parkcrest Pl, Oakridge Pl, and Nyari Rd) are advised to:

Keep doors and windows closed.

Cover outdoor furniture and retract pool covers.

Remove washing from clotheslines.

Secure pets in a protected area.

If you have a respiratory condition, please reduce outdoor activities and keep reliever medication nearby.

The Hills RFS is running a series of community meetings as we head into the fire season. For Glenorie residents, a meeting is being held at Hillside Public School on Nov 4th at 7pm.

Most weekends, Glenorie Brigade members can be found either instructing on, or participating in various training courses. This weekend was no different, with an Advanced Resusitation course at Rouse Hill Station. We had members on the course, refreshing their existing qualifications, or learning new skills, as well as members instructing.

Early this morning, Glenorie Brigade was called to assist with a structure fire at Grantham Farm, in the Blacktown LGA. Glenorie Brigade joined crews from Cumberland/Macarthur, Hawkesbury and The Hills Districts, and FRNSW. Crews worked for a number of hours to contain, and extinguish the fire.
