There is a Total Fire Ban in Sydney for Saturday 5 September, due to forecast high temperatures and strong winds.

Please ensure that you understand the rules that apply:

During a Total Fire Ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or to carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.

It pays to know your equipment….even in the dark or in the smoke. Training tonight involved equipment identification and familiarisation in an unfamiliar environment. We also did some strategy planning using the diorama.

The brigade was responded today to assist NSW Ambulance and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 075 Berowra with the extraction of an injured bushwalker from the Great North Walk above Berowra Waters. Brooklyn Rural Fire Brigade were also responded in their new boat with a composite crew from Milsons Passage Rural Fire Brigade. The patient was then transported to our station onboard Berowra Waters Boat Alpha, then transported via road ambulance. No update on condition of patient. Thanks to the crews who turned out.

Our first General Meeting of the brigade year under the new hierarchy was a great opportunity to present some certificates. It was also a chance to have the incoming Captain belatedly present Audrey with the coveted “Ian Wildman Award”. Congratulations Audrey, well deserved.

We’d like to thank everyone who helped make our Trivia Night such a success last night. The number of attendees (150+) went way beyond what we anticipated. Thank you to everyone who so generously donated raffle prizes. Finally, a big shout out to both Club Berowra - Berowra RSL for all their support in hosting the night and to Jamie, the Trivia host.

Tables( maximum of ten players per table) are still available, with bookings through the club.
Participation is FREE. However, we are putting together a good line up of raffle prizes, with tickets to be sold on the night.
