Today we celebrate all the amazing mums in our brigade community. The mums on the trucks, behind the radios and support roles. But not forgetting the mums supporting from home, holding families together while others respond, and cheering us on every step of the way. We see you all and we appreciate all you do.

Thank you for the care, strength and support you give not only to your families, but to our brigades, and community as well.

Happy Mother’s Day!

On May 4, we pause as one to remember, reflect, and give thanks.

International Firefighters’ Day is a time to honour those we have lost, recognise the courage of those who serve today, and inspire those who will serve in the future.

We remember the lives given in service to others and the legacy they leave behind in the communities they protected.

Wherever you are today, thank you.

FYI for tonight. There'll be lots of flashing lights and appliances on Main Road.
Exercises like this are a great way to keep the skills up and build strong teams.

🥳🎉Party Smoke Alert 🚨 ‼️
Tonight for training, from 7:30PM, we will be occupying the old Karkoo Nursery on main road Blackwood!!
You may notice party smoke (which looks similar to real smoke) drifting from the building from 7:30pm. Not long after Eden Hills Country Fire Service and Our fire trucks will arrive and crews will get to work.

The purpose of the training is to familiarise us with urban structure fires and allows BA Breathing Apperatus operators to nagivate through a smoke filled building. It also allows us to train with adjoining brigades!

Feel free to give us a wave and a toot as you pass by and you’re most welcome to watch from a distance.

Hazmat incident at Coromandel Valley - 24 April 2026: Three trucks carrying approximately 15 firefighters responded to Triple Zero to attend a hazardous materials (hazmat) incident at Coromandel Valley in the south-eastern suburbs of Adelaide at 3:05 PM today.

The incident, which was attended by two specialised CFS hazmat trucks, resulted from a gardener mixing chlorine paste and dry acid to poison a tree stump.

The gardener inhaled fumes from the chemical reaction and required treatment from the SA Ambulance Service.

The spill area was isolated and has now been made safe by CFS volunteers, who have been on scene for approximately 90 minutes.

There was no risk to other people or the environment.

Always follow instructions for proper usage and make sure you’re in a well-ventilated area before mixing household chemicals.

Just a heads up. It's very smokey in the Valley but we know because it's the results of a controlled burn.

More coming tomorrow if the weather is kind 😊

If you see flames or the smoke is increasing and getting thicker, by all means call 000

Bit of smoke on the horizon today! Never fear, it is just a quick hazard reduction burn by DEW.
More tomorrow too! DEW have another 15 hectares in Belair National park slated for Thursday 23 April.
This is backed up by a smaller 2.5 hectares on Friday near Crafers.
Enjoy the sunshine!

🔥 Fire Danger Season Update 🔥

Fire Danger Season has now officially ended in the following Fire Ban Districts:
Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Lower Eyre Peninsula, North East Pastoral, North West Pastoral, West Coast, and Flinders.

While this is a welcome end to the season, we remind everyone in these areas to continue exercising caution when using fire. Recent rain and cooler weather can be misleading, and risks can still remain.

For the rest of the state, Fire Danger Season is expected to end on 30 April. These districts must continue to follow all current restrictions until the season is officially lifted.

👉 Visit our website to learn what you can and can’t do during Fire Danger Season and to check the status of your Fire Ban District: https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/warnings-restrictions/restrictions/fire-danger-season-dates-permits/
