The Athelstone CFS would like to thank
Burton Demolition for their support in providing access to soon to be demolished properties for training purposes.

These properties provide invaluable opportunities for our firefighters to train in a variety of realistic scenarios and environments, helping to build skills and confidence.

We greatly appreciate the ongoing support from local businesses and the community in helping us better prepare to protect 🏠🔥

Smokey the Koala visited Thorndon Park on Sunday to say hello to the families of Athelstone CFS as they are unable to celebrate at Christmas because of the fire danger.

No fire danger so Smokey was relaxed. The atmosphere was warm and the families getting together made for a delightful afternoon.

Today is International Firefighters' Day.

It is a day to honour the courage and sacrifice of firefighters worldwide who risk their lives to protect communities. It commemorates those who have lost their lives in the line of duty and thank current personnel for their dedication.

The Athelstone Brigade is a group of selfless volunteers from our local community who always answer the call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year when needed most 🔥 🚒

Tonight’s training took us to the brand-new ambulance station in Campbelltown 🚑

A big thank you to Jayden for taking the time to show our crew around the fantastic new facilities and giving us a walkthrough of an ambulance to help members familiarise for when we have to work together at an incident.

We really appreciate the opportunity and a great insight into the work our ambulance colleagues do every day! 🚑 💚

A big thank you to Sammie from Limitless Quality Solutions for the generous donation of a hamper to our brigade following the Deep Creek Fire and our involvement in the response.

Support like this means a lot and it’s a great reminder of the strong community backing behind what we do. Also… a huge thank you to the CFS Foundation for assisting and coordinating this effort 🙏🏼

We truly appreciate your kindness and support, it doesn’t go unnoticed👏🔥

Tonight, Athelstone CFS had the privilege of welcoming Nathan van Berlo CFS Foundation Ambassador and Assistant Coach of the Adelaide Crows, for a powerful and engaging presentation.

Nathan shared honest and practical insights into leadership, performing under pressure, managing stress in high-pressure environments and the importance of teamwork.

Our members could clearly see the similarities between the intensity of AFL match day and the dynamic, high-pressure situations faced by CFS volunteers.

We were also pleased to have CFS Foundation Board Member Anne Lucas in attendance this evening, showing her ongoing support for our volunteers and brigade.

Thank you, Nathan, for taking the time to invest in our brigade and for reinforcing the strength that comes from strong leadership and working together as a team 🔥👏
