Thank you so much for all the help we received today from our regular volunteers and from the lovely new people who have come to assist us with all the w**ding along the Avenue of trees. We are so grateful for all the help! We can't do what we do without all your support.

If you haven't been to the Blackwood forest in a while this is the time! Don't miss it l! The Avenue of trees with the Manchurian pears honouring the volunteers and the history of the park is in full blossom! What a beautiful sight!

Thank you to all the community members who turned up today to help our friends of Blackwood forest volunteers w**d, plant and mulch on this beautiful Sunday morning. What a perfect day to be out in the fresh air and reconnect with nature! Our little group of volunteers are so thankful to all the helpers today. We couldn't do what we do without you!

What a stunning morning at the Blackwood forest today. The first Manchurian pear blossoms are out and in a couple of weeks the Avenue of trees will be looking magnificent. If you ever considered helping our volunteers during our monthly working bees this is your chance. Our August working bee is tomorrow 9.30am and the weather is looking nice and dry like today. We always need extra pairs of hands so if you can't make tomorrow stay tuned for our next September date. Our working bees run on the second Sunday of every month! See you all soon and thank you for all the help as always!!

Good morning! Calling out for extra help for this Sunday's working bee. We have a very busy morning ahead of us. If you could spare a couple of hours to join our volunteers and give us a hand this Sunday morning it would be wonderful. We will be planting more native grasses and w**ding in different sections of the forest.

We will meet at 9.30am at the managers office near the Blackwood forest car park where the different tasks will be allocated.

If you can come, please ensure you wear enclosed shoes, a hat and bring drinking water. It's also helpful if could bring gloves and a garden fork or mattock if you have one. No problem if not.

Have you ever spotted bandicoots or yellow-tailed black cockatoos in the Blackwood Forest? Our national park rangers have asked the community to help monitor some of these vulnerable and endangered species in our park. If you can help, all you have to do is register and log the sighting in the free INaturalist website or app (links to App store and play store below).

The rangers can access your sightings from there. It is important for the national parks' staff & ecologists to have this data as it affects how they effectively manage areas of the park and adjust conservation strategies to protect endangered wildlife.
