What a great video shared by TAFE SA of the amazing work done by the apprentices in landscape construction at the Blackwood forest. Thank you again!

View from the Blackwood forest car park. The building you can see on the video dates back to the old experimental orchard and used to be the manager's office. It is now where we meet for our monthly working bees. Keep an eye out for our next event in June. We will be posting the working bee details very soon!

From 18-24 May we celebrate National volunteer week! This is our chance to thank all our past volunteers that have helped make the Blackwood forest the beautiful park it is today, the current volunteers working so hard to maintain and enhance it and the future generations of volunteers to come. On this note, sending a big shoutout to our own wonderful volunteer Pattie who spent hours scrubbing the graffiti that has been sprayed in some of the trees in the forest last week. If you think you could volunteer a couple hours once a month on a Sunday morning please keep an eye out for our working bee events on our page. Happy volunteering 🎄🎄🎄

What a productive working bee this Sunday morning. Thank you to all the extra volunteers that have joined us. We completed some mulching around some of the planting pods and had an education session on some of the weeds to identify and effectively remove around the forest. There is always plenty of work to be done so if you ever fancy joining us for a working bee in the future feel free to get in touch. Thank you!

If you have a bit of time this morning come and join us from 10am at the Blackwood forest for our monthly working bee or to chat and see what we get up to and all the work we have been doing around the park. Meet at the office near the car park at 10. Thank you!

Another brilliant initiative by TAFE SA in conjunction with Parks SA to assist our Friends of Blackwood forest with the repair and rebuild of many sections of the heritage stone walls around the old manager residence gardens. The students are scheduled to be working on site every Wednesday for the next 3 weeks.
Sharing some photos of the amazing work already completed today!
Thank you to all involved for getting this initiative off the ground and for all the work that the students and leaders are putting in the repairs. It's looking so good already!

Thanks to the wonderful Belair National Park ranger who came today to the Blackwood forest and managed to remove all the graffiti from the managers office building with a pressure washer. We are so thankful for the help as our volunteers were not able to do it successfully by hand...
