Wayne County was recently recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This follows the GFOA's review of Wayne County's 2024 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (AFCR).

The 2024 AFCR, as well as many other financial reports, may be viewed on the Wayne County Auditor's website at https://waynecountyauditor.org/Posts?category=Budgetary%20Accounting, or by going to the INFO drop down and selecting Budgetary Accounting.

The updated mapping was carefully designed to maintain all previous functionality, while bringing our GIS into compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

As the May election approaches, remember that you can view the estimated cost of a proposed Levy on YOUR property by visiting the Auditor's website.

1. Go to www.waynecountyauditor.org.
2. Search for your property by Parcel Number, Owner Name, or Address.
3. Scroll down to the Levy section of your property page to see the levies that are relevant to your property.

The chart below shows the levies that Wayne County voters will see on the May ballot.

If your home or property was damaged during last night's storm, you may qualify for a partial tax reduction on your 2026 property taxes, paid in 2027.

You will need to fill out a DTE26 form by 12/31/26 and return it to the Wayne County Auditor's Office. A link to the necessary form is below.

The attached chart shows Wayne County's tax rates. As a reminder, the Total Column is the FULL Tax Rate, while the EFFECTIVE Column are the actual rates that properties are taxed, once tax reduction factors are applied.

We are thankful for the opportunity to have such meaningful conversations with Auditors and School Treasurers from across Ohio.

CAAO’s Northeast District, in partnership with the Ohio Association of School Business Officials, hosted a joint meeting in Stark County this morning. The meeting brought together County Auditors and School Treasurers from Northeast Ohio for timely discussion of school funding and the impact of the five property tax bills passed in November.

Thank you to Mahoning County Auditor and Northeast District President Ralph Meacham for hosting today’s meeting!
