Today Scott Smith from the SAL and former Commander Bill Bolling had the honor and privilege of attending the retirement and change of Command ceremonies for Navy Captain Russel Sanchez a Legion member of post 881. He has been serving as the Commander of the Naval Reserve officers training court unit at the University of Rochester. He enlisted in the Navy in 1987 and in 1997 became a Commissioned officer. He received many awards during his career as he traveled to many countries. A large crowd of both military and civilians gathered at the Boatyard to celebrate with Captain Sanchez. We hope to see more of him and his family enjoying Post 881 as he settles into a life of retirement.
