Save the Date!!!

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, there will be a community-wide commemoration for the 200th anniversary of Butler, Huron, Rose, and Wolcott. To honor the history and future of the Old Wolcott towns, a parade will course through each of the four towns, making short stops at designated sites in each town where a brief message will be delivered. The parade will be followed by a candlelight service at 7:30 pm in the Wolcott Village Park. After the candlelight service, the parade will continue through the village and return to the Wolcott Fire Hall.

Parade Route: Departing from the Wolcott Fire Hall on West Port Bay Rd. at 5:30 pm.
To:
1) South Butler Fire Department Corner of So. Butler Rd. & Rte. 89 via Main St, New Hartford St, Rte 89 stop at 5:50 pm
2) Veterans Monument Corner of Wolcott Rd. & Rte. 414 stop at 6:20 pm
3) North Rose Fire Department 5070 No. Huron St. via Rte 414 to Railroad to No. Huron St. Stop 6:42 pm
4) Huron Town Hall 10880 Lummisville Rd. stop 7:06 pm
5) Wolcott Village Park Corner of New Hartford and Park via Lummisville Rd. to Ridge Rd. to New Hartford St. Stop 7:30 pm

The parade will arrive at the Candlelight Service destination, the Wolcott Village Park, at around 7:30 pm. The program will include historical address, pastoral message, music by North Rose-Wolcott High School Choir and Band students, and the lighting of candles. Candles will be available, and cell phones may be used for light if you wish.

Last Friday, April 3, 2026 was the 200 year anniversary of the establishment of the Wayne County towns of Butler, Huron, Rose, as well as the establishment of the creation of new borders and town leaders for parent town Wolcott. A special commemoration program to honor these four Old Wolcott towns will be held Thursday, April 9 at 9:30 AM with students, faculty, and staff at North Rose-Wolcott High School. The public is invited to view this program online. Streaming will open at 9:15 AM. The program will last about an hour. Happy Birthday to the
Towns of
Huron, Butler and Rose!
Today marks the 200th anniversary of their separation from the Town of Wolcott thus forming the current town boundaries.

If you haven't had the opportunity to explore the second floor of the Huron Grange Hall - Saturday, September 20, from 10 AM to 3 PM - the Grange Hall will be open with exhibits set up.

The Huron Presbyterian Church is having a sale of odds -n- ends downstairs in the Grange. Be sure to take a few minutes to venture up to the second floor to see the interesting history of an agricultural movement that fostered the development of many of our rural communities, including Huron.

Oh yes!! Don't forget to visit the local vendors, historic programs, and more across the road on the north lawn of the church, in the church, and at the History Center.

Huron Day - Celebrating Huron's 199 years! - is just around the corner!!!

There's lots to at this year's celebration of the Town of Huron:
- Shop local participating vendors.
- Huron Presbyterian Church that will have an Odds-n-Ends Sale going on in the Huron Grange.
- The Huron History Center will be open to explore the variety of exhibits about our town's heritage.
- History programs from genealogy and gravestones to storytelling will be presented in the Huron Presbyterian Church Sanctuary.
