🌩️ SEVERE WEATHER REMINDER 🌩️

Last night's storms were a reminder of how quickly severe weather can impact Adams County. Tornado sirens were activated in portions of northern Adams County, and Manchester's sirens sounded during a Destructive Severe Thunderstorm Warning with winds exceeding 85 mph.

Remember, outdoor warning sirens are intended to alert those who are outdoors and should not be your only source of emergency information.

Northeastern Adams County in south central Ohio...
Pike County in south central Ohio...
Northern Scioto County in south central Ohio...

* Until 445 AM EDT.

* At 412 AM EDT, a tornado-producing storm was located near Kincaid
Springs, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado. Radar shows tornado debris in
the air.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Waverly, Piketon, Kincaid Springs, Beaver, Wakefield, Poplar Grove,
Stockdale, Elm Grove, Omega, State Route 335 at State Route 776,
Givens, Ladd, Mount Joy, Linn, Lake White, Germany, and Idaho.
To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a
basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.

National Night Out is more than just an event—it's an opportunity to bring our community together while supporting local children and families.

Last year, all 200 backpacks were gone by the end of the night. Families enjoyed giveaways, activities, first responder demonstrations, emergency vehicles, community booths, and positive interactions with local agencies and organizations.

This year, we're hoping to make National Night Out 2026 even bigger!

Behind every call is a dispatcher answering emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinating with first responders, entering and maintaining critical LEADS information, monitoring multiple radio channels, and helping ensure responders have the information they need when seconds matter.

Every day requires constant focus, communication, and teamwork to support the citizens of Adams County and the agencies we serve.
