🌟 Spotlight on Sara Knauff 🌟

This week, we are excited to shine the spotlight on Sara Knauff, a remarkable woman who truly appreciates the simple joys in life and the people who mean the most to her.

Sara is a determined and independent individual who knows what she wants and works hard to achieve her goals. She is dependable, caring, and the kind of friend others can always count on. Her positive attitude and strong spirit make her a joy to know.

Sara is proud to have accomplished many things throughout her life, including graduating from Venture Productions, LLC and earning her driver's license—both milestones that reflect her determination and perseverance.

Family is incredibly important to Sara. She has three siblings, a brother, Bill, and two sisters, Gidget and Bridget. Some of the most important people in her life are her lifelong companion, Jamey Lawson, her mother, and her cousin, Missy Hobbs. Their love, encouragement, and support mean the world to her, and Sara knows she can always count on them.

When she's not spending time with family and friends, Sara enjoys a variety of hobbies, including fishing, walking in the woods, and shopping. She especially loves collecting unique treasures and has an impressive collection of crystals, glass hummingbirds, and vintage glass bottles and jars.

One of Sara's greatest accomplishments—and the one she treasures most—is meeting her lifelong partner, Jamey, and making the commitment to spend their lives together.

Sara is also a proud pet mom to her two beloved cats—Lucy and Sage, who bring her endless companionship and joy.

At home, Sara enjoys cooking and sharing meals with Jamey and her mom. She also loves searching for special collectibles, especially at her cousin Missy's crystal shop, one of her favorite places to visit.

If given the opportunity to travel anywhere, Sara's dream vacation would be a trip to Myrtle Beach with Jamey. She would love to spend time exploring the ocean, enjoying the sandy beaches, and creating lasting memories together.

Looking ahead, Sara's current goal is to build a small home on her parents' hill—a dream that reflects her desire for independence while remaining close to the people she loves.

We are incredibly proud of all that Sara has accomplished and look forward to watching her continue to achieve her goals and pursue her dreams. 💙

🎲✨ What a Night of Fun, Friendship, and Bunco! ✨🎲

Events like these are about so much more than a game—they provide opportunities for friendship, laughter, social connection, and creating lasting memories together.

Lots of laughter, friendly competition, and the memories were priceless as we gathered for an exciting evening of Bunco! 🎲🎲

Before the games began, everyone enjoyed a delicious meal of Snappy Pizza, chips, and drinks that definitely filled our bellies and fueled us up for a night of fun. 🍕🥤

Once it was time to play, our individuals quickly caught on to the game. It didn’t take long before the room was filled with cheers of “Roll, roll, roll” as the dice bounced across the tables. The excitement grew with every round, and they wanted to keep playing the game!

Congratulations to our Bunco Champion, Kim Crum, who rolled her way to victory and took home the top spot for the evening! 🎉🏆

A special thank you to Venture Productions for providing transportation and to the providers who stayed to help keep score, and support our individuals throughout the evening. Your dedication and support helped make this event such a wonderful success.

⭐️Special thanks to our anonymous donor from Seaman, Ohio for covering the food, drinks, and prize!

This alert provides critical information to caregivers about recognizing and responding to medical emergencies...

The most important job of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) is to keep the people they support healthy and safe. DSPs can help prevent serious health problems when they notice small changes early. One of the best ways to do this is by knowing what is normal or usual for that person. When you know what is typical, you can quickly spot when something is different.

🥇 HE BROUGHT HOME THE GOLD! 🥇

What an incredible weekend for one of our very own!

The 2026 Special Olympics Ohio Summer Games took place this past weekend at The Ohio State University, kicking off with an unforgettable Opening Ceremony at the iconic Horseshoe. Athletes from across the state came together to showcase their talents, determination, and competitive spirit during three exciting days of competition, celebration, and achievement.

We are thrilled to recognize Darrell Grooms for his outstanding performance on the state stage!

Darrell competed in both the 100-Meter Dash and the Softball Throw, representing our area with pride and determination. His hard work and dedication paid off as he raced to a FIRST-PLACE finish in the 100-Meter Dash, earning a Gold Medal! 🥇

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Darrell also secured THIRD PLACE in the Softball Throw, bringing home a Bronze Medal! 🥉

Darrell currently competes with Highland County Special Olympics under the leadership of Nathan Boatman, and we are incredibly proud of all that he has accomplished. His success is a testament to the power of perseverance, commitment, and the opportunities created through community partnerships.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Highland County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Highland County Special Olympics for their continued collaboration and support. By working together, we can create meaningful experiences, foster inclusion, and provide life-changing opportunities for the individuals we serve.

Please join us in congratulating Darrell on this remarkable achievement! Your hard work, sportsmanship, and determination inspire us all.

🎉 Congratulations, Darrell! We are proud of you and excited to celebrate your success! 🎉

🎉☀️ What an Incredible Friday at the ACBDD Summer Kickoff Picnic! ☀️🎉

Friday was a day to remember as the ACBDD welcomed the individuals we serve, their providers, families, and community partners to our annual Summer Kickoff Picnic at Seaman Legion Park.

The park was filled with laughter, friendship, and excitement from beginning to end! Whether participants were cooling off at the splash pad, enjoying a game of basketball, or spending time with friends, smiles could be seen throughout the park all day long.

One of the highlights of the day was the announcement of the winner of the ACBDD Shirt Design Competition. Congratulations to Caleb Holstetter on his outstanding design! We are excited to showcase his creativity on this year’s ACBDD shirts.

We were also honored to welcome representatives from the Adams County Board of Elections, who recognized individuals who volunteered at the polls during the Primary Election. Certificates and medals were presented in appreciation of their service, demonstrating the power of community involvement and partnership. A special thank you to Carol Knauff and Mark Tolle for joining us and helping make the day even more meaningful.

The event was a tremendous success, bringing people together, creating lasting memories, and celebrating the wonderful individuals and partnerships that make our community so special.

A heartfelt thank you goes to BeeKay Sweets for providing a delicious meal and to our master griller, Brian Mason, for keeping the hot dogs coming!

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the entire staff of Venture Productions Inc.for not only providing outstanding support and services throughout the event, but for being an important part of the day itself. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment helped make this celebration a truly special experience for everyone involved.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event such a memorable celebration. Together, we created a day filled with joy, connection, inclusion, and community spirit. The memories made, friendships strengthened, and smiles shared are what made this day truly special.

Here’s to a fantastic summer ahead! ☀️🎉❤️
