On National Day of the Deployed, I honor the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who serve far from home to protect our nation and keep others safe.

Alongside Juan M. Gaud Pacheco, Esq., Director of the Governor’s Faith-Based Office, we participated in a White House briefing hosted by Jennifer Korn, Director of the White House Faith Office, alongside members of Trump’s team. We discussed opportunities to advance President Trump’s faith-based agenda, strengthen partnerships between the Government of Puerto Rico and the Trump Administration, and empower faith-based organizations to support families and communities across the Island.

We also met with officials from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development () and the U.S. Department of Labor () to discuss aligning local efforts with federal priorities, expanding opportunities for community and faith-based organizations, promoting youth mentorship, and strengthening the critical role these organizations play in serving Puerto Rico’s families.

director de la Oficina de Asuntos de Base de Fe de la Gobernadora, participamos en una sesión informativa en la Casa Blanca, encabezada por Jennifer Korn, directora de la Oficina de Asuntos de Base de Fe de la Casa Blanca, junto a miembros del equipo del presidente Donald J. Trump. Durante el encuentro, dialogamos sobre oportunidades para impulsar la agenda del presidente Trump en materia de asuntos religiosos, fortalecer las alianzas entre el Gobierno de Puerto Rico y la Administración Trump, y promover el papel de las organizaciones basadas en la fe en el apoyo a las familias y comunidades a través de toda la Isla.

Asimismo, nos reunimos con funcionarios del Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano de los Estados Unidos y del Departamento del Trabajo federal para dialogar sobre la alineación de los esfuerzos locales con las prioridades federales, la ampliación de oportunidades para las organizaciones comunitarias y basadas en la fe, el fortalecimiento de los programas de mentoría juvenil y el rol fundamental que desempeñan estas organizaciones en el servicio y bienestar de las familias puertorriqueñas.
