Today, I was pleased to welcome my good friends Representatives Mario Díaz-Balart, Andy Harris, Chuck Edwards, Jay Obernolte, David Rouzer, and Henry Cuellar to San Juan, colleagues I had the privilege of serving with in Congress and whose longstanding support for Puerto Rico remains.

Along with PRFAA Executive Director, Gabriella Boffelli, we had a productive discussion on Puerto Rico’s strategic role in advancing America’s security interests across the Caribbean and the Western Hemisphere.

I look forward to continue working together to advance shared priorities for Puerto Rico and the rest of our Nation.

Congratulations to my friend and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on tonight’s decisive primary victory in the race for U.S. Senate. Texans once again showed their strong support for leaders who stand with President Donald J. Trump , fight for the America First agenda, and deliver for the people of Texas.

Thank you, Dr. Mehmet Oz for recognizing the leadership of Governor Jenniffer González Colón and working with us to strengthen healthcare for Puerto Rico.

While others have promised, it is President Trump and his administration who have once again delivered. Through multi-year efforts pursued via administrative and legislative channels, the Medicare Advantage reimbursement rates for the island have seen a historic increase, providing stability to the program and the 679,000 seniors it serves.

We are also grateful for CMS actions exempting Puerto Rico from the rule to limit the number of Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans in 2027. Both actions recognize our unique healthcare challenges. We look forward to continuing working with you on behalf of the American people.
