The Embassy of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the United States of America has opened a book of condolences for the late Honourable Alpian R. O. Allen, M.B.E, former Parliamentarian and Minister of Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The book will be available for signature at the Embassy, located at 1629 K St NW, Suite 704, Washington D.C., from Wednesday 2 September 2026 to Tuesday 8 September 2026 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Former Parliamentarian, Alpian Allen, has passed away at the age of 86.

Mr. Allen served as a Member of Parliament for North Leeward during the New Democratic Party administration, from 1989 to 2001.

He held a number of ministerial portfolios during his years in government, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tourism and Information and Minister of Education, Culture and Women’s Affairs

Mr. Allen was also a Methodist Lay Preacher

From June 22-24, 2026, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines participated in the 56th Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) held I Panama City, Panama.

The delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs Hon. Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble, engaged in discussions with other member states, permanent observers, civil society and other actors under the theme “The Americas United around the Bicentennial of the Amphictyonic Congress of Panama” and the topic “Firm Multilateralism in Defense of Democracy, Hemispheric Security, and Stability in the Member States”.

✨ Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett has reaffirmed that the integration movement "remains convinced" that its advancement must continue to be driven by collective action amid "the pressures that challenge hard-won progress."

🤝 In her message marking the 53rd Anniversary of the Signing of the Treaty of Chaguaramas, she reflected on the Community's purpose as "a strong expression of collective determination to shape our own destiny."

🌎 She highlighted the progress achieved through active collaboration and mutual support, which have strengthened economic partnerships and amplified CARICOM's voice on issues of global importance.
